Faecal incontinence is a distressing and debilitating condition that can be socidally and personally incapacitating. The estimated prevalence of faecal incontinence in the general population ranges from 1 to 17%. Its causes are -congenital cause, e.g., spina bifid and imperforate anus -traumatic causes, e.g., road traffic accidents and pelvic operations -neurological conditions, e.g., disseminated sclerosis or tumors -old age. Ahmed T. Hadidi, consultant professor of Mannheim-Heidelberg University in Germany, who invented this unique and simple "Hadidi Device", which will enable the patient to control the time, frequency and place of defecation could help incontinent patients to lead a satisfactory social and personal life.
